About
the Author
Eleanor Vance is an independent fiction author whose novels examine the intricate intersections of memory, environmental solitude, and human connection. Born and raised along the rugged coast of New England, she studied literature and art history at Columbia University before dedicating her life to narrative storytelling and quiet observational writing.
Her debut novel, The Paper Horizon, won the National Critics' Circle Award for Debut Fiction in 2017. Over the past decade, her work has been translated into twelve languages and praised by The New Yorker, The Atlantic, and The Guardian for its stark emotional clarity, minimalist prose style, and rich psychological atmosphere.
When not writing at her studio desk overlooking the Atlantic shore, Eleanor conducts writing seminars on minimalist craft, mentors emerging fiction writers, and collects mid-century typography specimen books. She lives in Portland, Maine, with her partner and two rescue greyhounds.
